In the summer of 2003, after my previous band, Boycott Space Time, had gone so far off the deep end that it was no longer functioning, I decided to take a 180 degree turn and record a full lenth acoustic solo album. It was to be a no frills affair, just a single guitar and single voice recorded live into a single microphone with as little post production as possible. The whole thing was recorded in a single afternoon, with only eight tracks turning out good enough to be released.

Unlike BST, which was often overtly difficult to listen to, I tried to pull everything together using a certain pop sensibility, and I tried to write from a less obscure perspective. I do kind of regret putting the whole thing together in such haste, you can hear a lot of sour notes and hiss, but I keep coming back to these tracks because I think there is something special about them, a kind of energy and spirit that can only come from removing all the clutter and just letting a good song be a good song, and I hope that energy comes across when you listen to it.
